** Setting Up 3DS Max 2009 32bits with TL2 Plugins **

In this tutorial I will show you how to set-up 3DS Max 2009 with the original TL2 plugins that Runic Games gave us.

Why 3DS Max 2009 32bits? Installation

The plugins from Runic Games only work in this version of 3DS Max. Must be 2009 and 32bits. This is an old version and it's hard to find, so please share.

You can download the software here:

To install this click on setup.exe and then choose Install Products.

Then, make sure you check the 32bits version and Install.

You will have to follow some instructions from the “install.txt” file located under the Keygen folder.

There you have the serial code, and how to use the keygen. Very simple. Always using the 32bits.

Once you finished installing, and the program is running well, close it.

Now we need to download the plugins from TL2 Assets Pack:

Go to the 3DS Max 2009 folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\3ds Max 2009) and look for the “plugins” folder.

We want to copy and paste the 4 files. and we are ready to go!

As you can see when you go to File>Export you will be able to export in 3 new formats:

  1. Ogre Mesh (.MESH)
  2. Ogre Skinned Mesh (.MESH)
  3. Ogre Animation (.SKELETON)

The final step is to copy into you C: drive the OgreCommandLineTools. I found errors if you put it somewhere else, so just copy and paste the folder to the C: drive so the programs can locate this files easily.

Now you should be ready to go.

Let's recap:

  1. Download and install 3DS Max 2009 32bits.
  2. Download TL2 Plugins and copy the files to the “C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\3ds Max 2009\plugins” folder. (4 files in total)
  3. Copy the OgreCommandLineTools folder to your C: Drive.

In a future tutorial I will show you how to export models and animations using this program.

Thanks for reading.
